EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES

The AFPC Educational Outcomes (EO) focus on what graduates are able to do at the end of a first professional degree in pharmacy. The 2010 version was revised and approved by the Board of Directors at the AFPC Annual Meeting on June 4, 2017. In the 2017 version, the relationship of the roles to one another is based on provision of patient care (Care Provider), which is at the core of the discipline of pharmacy in Canada. Pharmacy Care Providers are medication therapy experts who are grounded in a professional identity. To provide the quality of pharmacy care required, graduates can approach pharmacy practice by skillfully integrating Communicator, Collaborator, Leader-Manager, Scholar and Health Advocate roles into their Care Provider role.
