2027 COMPETITION

The call for nominations for the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy Canada 2027 will open later in the fall, with a deadline of January 31, 2027 for most awards. 

​

AFPC’s annual awards program recognizes the outstanding contributions of faculty members in education, leadership and research. Student research achievements are also recognized. 

​

The available awards, their eligibility, submissions and deadlines to the AFPC Executive Assistant are listed in the AFPC 2027 Awards and Nominations Booklet (link below). Award applications, support/reference letters and all supporting documents must be submitted via email to the AFPC Executive Assistant, by the specified due date. 

​

The awards will be presented at the Awards Banquet on June 16, 2027, at the AFPC Canadian Pharmacy Education and Research Conference (CPERC), being held in Halifax. Please see the Conference tab for more details..

• AFPC / CFP Graduate Student Award for Pharmacy Practice Research

  • To recognize the best pharmacy practice research paper written by a graduate student from a member Faculty.​

• AFPC Graduate Student Research Award

  • To recognize the best research paper published by a graduate student from a member Faculty.​

• AFPC Pharmacy Student Research Poster Award

  • To recognize the 3 best posters presented by graduate and undergraduate ​students during the year (1 application per Faculty).

• AFPC Whit Matthews Graduate / Undergraduate Student Poster Award (posters judged at CPERC from submitted abstracts)

  • To recognize the 2 best poster presentations by students during CPERC​

MEMBERS AWARDS

• AFPC / Pharmascience National Award for Excellence in Education

  • To recognize an academic staff member’s contribution(s) to the development of major innovations in Canadian pharmacy education.

• AFPC New Investigator Research Award 

  • To recognize outstanding research achievements and contributions of the junior members of the academic staff of Faculties of pharmacy in Canada.

• AFPC / Pharmascience Award for Innovation in Education

  • To ​recognize the development of a significant innovation in teaching, learning and/or assessment that has been implemented within a Faculty of pharmacy within Canada

• AFPC / Pfizer Research Career Award

  • To stimulate and foster the development of research programs in all areas of pharmacy by recognizing research excellence of members of the academic staff of Faculties of pharmacy in Canada

• AFPC / PEBC Award for Research or Innovation in Assessment of Competence 

  • To recognize outstanding work in the are of assessment of competence in the field of Pharmacy

• AFPC Honoured Life Membership

  • To recognize the outstanding contribution of retired members to the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada at a national level. Honoured Life Members shall have the right to belong to AFPC as a member for their lifetime.

• AFPC Woods-Hughes Special Service Award

  • To be presented to an individual or group of individuals, who are current or past AFPC members, and who have provided exceptional service to the Association

• AFPC Educational Scholarship Poster Award (posters judged at CPERC from submitted abstracts)

  • To recognize the best innovative and effective educational scholarship poster presented by a faculty member at the AFPC annual conference.
